Emergency Respite Program

Respite Care Association of Wisconsin has received funding specifically for emergency respite care situations.

Emergency respite care addresses the health and safety of the care recipient and the caregiver, reducing the potential risk of neglect, abuse, or self-harm.

Emergency situations may include, but are not limited to, the following circumstances:

  • Mental health support
  • The need to prevent abuse and neglect
  • The caregiver or their family needs medical attention in the immediate future
  • Funeral/wake/celebration of life
  • Loss of employment or a work-related situation
  • Drug or alcohol abuse counseling or support

Please complete the Emergency Respite Form, and RCAW staff will contact you. If you have any questions, call or text 608-222-2033.

For an expedited emergency response, please text 608-222-2033 indicating the need for emergency respite.
