Expanding Respite Options Workgroup

Expanding Respite Care Options Workgroup Scope

Objective:

  • This workgroup was formed to use data-driven analysis and geographic mapping to identify and prioritize areas of highest unmet respite need for family caregivers in Wisconsin.  Work with key stakeholders to guide targeted, measurable interventions that address identified barriers, expand service availability, strengthen workforce capacity, and improve awareness of, and access to, respite care supports and resources.

Goals:

  • Analyze and Identify Priority Areas:
    – Review and interpret respite program data and county/regional mapping outputs (this tool is still in development) to identify geographic areas with the greatest unmet need.
    – Validate findings with stakeholder input, including providers, caregivers, and community partners.
  • Develop Shared Understanding of Need:
    – Translate data findings into clear, consistent messaging for internal and external stakeholders.
    – Communicate identified gaps, disparities, and priority regions to inform alignment across partners.
  • Prioritize and Recommend Targeted Interventions:
    – Establish criteria to evaluate and prioritize intervention strategies (e.g., workforce expansion, new service models, access improvements).
    – Recommend specific, actionable interventions tailored to the needs of high-priority regions.
