Sara Sass brings over 28 years of accounting experience across a wide range of industries. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Communications from Concordia University and has spent much of her career supporting nonprofit organizations. Sara has a strong passion for numbers and a sharp eye for detail, with extensive experience in budgeting, cash flow management, financial analysis and financial reporting.
Since joining RCAW in 2024, Sara has valued the opportunity to apply her skills in support of a meaningful mission. She often describes her role as “crunching numbers for a worthy cause,” and finds deep satisfaction in ensuring the financial health of an organization that serves others.
Sara understands firsthand the importance of respite care for long-term caregivers. When her son was diagnosed with severe Crohn’s Disease at the age of nine, she experienced the challenges of advocating for care and navigating complex support systems. This personal journey has shaped her perspective and fuels her passion for supporting families with respite care needs. Her empathy is grounded in lived experience and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Outside of work, there is no greater joy for Sara than caring for her large and lively family. She and her husband have six children, ranging in age from 30 to 16, and a five-year-old granddaughter. She is actively involved in her church and enjoys spending time outdoors whenever possible, especially hiking Wisconsin state parks and rock hounding along the shores of Lake Michigan.
