Step-by-Step Guide: How to Apply for the Caregiver Respite Grant Program (CRGP)

The Caregiver Respite Grant Program (CRGP) provides short‑term financial assistance for up to five days of respite care, which must be used within 30 days of approval. Caregivers may hire any qualified provider they choose. Before applying, caregivers must identify their provider choice, service dates, and total funding request

Step 1:

The family or primary caregiver (applicant) completes the Eligibility Criteria Form.

RCAW reviews the Eligibility Criteria Form and Supporting Documentation Form. Qualified applicants will then receive an emailed link to the CRGP application.

Step 4:

The family or primary caregiver (applicant) submits the completed application. If approved, RCAW will notify them by email and provide a link to the Grant Report.

Step 5:

After the final date of respite, the family or primary caregiver (applicant) must sign the Grant Report to verify the dates and times of care. RCAW will then mail the approved grant funds via USPS.

Other: Depending on available funds, family or primary caregivers may be able to reapply for the Caregiver Respite Grant Program (CRGP) multiple times per year. Please refer to the CRGP webpage for the most up‑to‑date information.

Applicants must complete the RCAW Grant Impact Survey to remain eligible for future applications.
